Modeling the temporal coordination of behavior and internal states

چکیده

Coupled logistic maps are used to model the temporal coordination of behavior based on the internal states of interacting individuals. The control parameters of the maps correspond to the internal states of individuals, such as emotions, goals, etc. The dynamical variables in the maps correspond to behavior. Computer simulations are used to investigate how the coordination of behavior changes as a function of the strength of coupling and the similarity of internal states. Several qualitatively different types of coordination have been observed, with synchronization in-phase occurring for strong coupling and similarity in internal states. In a variation of the basic model, each map can adjust its ow n control parameter to synchronize its dynamics with that of other maps. Simulation results provide insight into topics in close relations and group dynamics.
